I was very excited to be in this extremely well rounded production of "Almost, Maine" at Pacific Theatre in Vancouver. A fun and playful story about love. A treat to have been a part of.

This is a great moment where I was distracted by my secret crush and miss everything my coworker just said to me. Hilarious (take my word for it). I love finding little ways to inject humour into a moment.

Norm Foster is the most prolific and produced playwright in Canada. And what a joy to play with a text that's essentially written like a sitcom. I've been in funny plays but the jokes per minute in this script was astounding. Had a great time at Chemainus Theatre with this show. It was a remount of the previous production done in Ontario and Karen Johnson-Diamond and myself were brought on board to replace other actors. A week and half rehearsal and we were up and running!

I love this photo because we get an idea of how big this set is. Look at that! I'm two stories up being tempted to jump. Now imagine ten photos like this one on each side of this photo. That's how big this set is! Super cool to be a part of. I'm pumped that I got to play Jesus and experience the space, the stage, and the story but I'm also happy to have been able to share it with thousands of people.

Father Flynn: I'm probably one of the youngest people to play this role professionally. What an absolutely perfectly crafted play. I loved the tension of walking the line of guilt and innocense, to feel the audience shift from side to side every so slightly as we journeyed through the text. Ha! Delightful.

There was also another facinating dynamic when the young nun (played by Kaitlin Williams) and the  priest are nearer in age. 

Directed by Sara-Jeanne Hosie I got to pay the cock of the roost Alphonso in the musical Chickens at Chemainus Theatre. Written by Lucia Frangione it's a funny, wild, beauty filled story about the love between husband and wife, and making ends meet with a little help from their prized chickens.

I've actually done this play 3 times! It's a one man show written by Doug Curtis who started Ghost River Theatre in Calgary. I remember seeing the original production in Calgary and thinking it was the perfect fit for Rosebud Theatre's Studio Stage. I recommended the Artistic Director read it and sure enough I had the privilige of doing the summer run in 2008. I ended up remounting the show with my wife in 2010 in Vancouver at Pacific Theatre a couple years later, and then Chemainus Theatre contacted me about remounting it on their Studio Stage for their summer show in 2015. A beautiful little story about a boy who softens his heart, listens to God, and affects change through the smallest, seemingly inconsequential actions.

I remember shooting this bit with the director Markus Virpio and realizing how fluid, malleable, and inventive he was. The set always felt relaxed even though we were in a crunch and hammering through a lot of material and locations. That's talent and experience for ya.

The first play I ever produced was the Proposal by Anto Chekhov. I played the lead "Lomov" in this hilarious farce about a hypochondriac looking for love. In this photo I had just passed out and Stephan (Roger Hamm) awkwardly tries to pick me off the floor to revive me. Obviously I had to end up with my face in his crotch! Is anything funnier? Rosebud Theatre picked the show up and ran it as one of their summer Studio Stage productions. It was a hit.

This was the first TV project I ever booked. Directly out of my acting program I got to work with Neill Fearnley and Chad Oakes! I've worked on another project Neill has worked on called "When Calls The Heart" and I really want to get on anything Chad Oakes is working on now (Hell on Wheels, Van Helsing, Fargo).

Who am I looking at? Anne Heche and James Tupper as the world falls apart around us and we descend into mayhem. I didn't get to share any scenes with her but my friend Janet Kidder had a great recurring arc in Season 1 of this show. I hope I get to work with her soon.

I like this photo because it shows the scenery, location, and scope of the project. Nestled in the Badlands of Alberta the Badlands Passion Play looks massive! Here we get a small look in the background of what hills that surround the venue look like, we see a fraction of how many people are involved, and we see the depth and size of the stage. I also love that we get to work with animals. Here I got to work with Gabby the donkey. She is so darn cute! Check out my instagram for more photos of her :) Stages are rarely large enough to bring a donkey on stage but this one is so big they also include sheep, and a horse!

I like this photo because it reminds me of the show. Jesus just sitting there having a convo with Peter and telling a story while people listen. Classic Jesus.

This wonderful play made me feel like a was part of a hit sitcom! Thank you John Cariani for setting us up with some real home runs. This show was a joke factory and this cast was killin' it!
